Chicago

I spent the weekend in Chicago and it was wonderful. Saturday, my niece Jackie and I took a class at The Chopping Block in Lincoln Square.

The Class was Bread Baking Basics. Our instructors were great as were the accommodations. Everything very professional. They welcomed us with coffee, water, and a little savory treat.

Chef Jacqueline, super fun!

Flavorful Frittata

Then we got started. Ambitious agenda. Cinnamon rolls, whole wheat baguettes, and foccacia. Everything was pre- measured for us which sped things up a bit.

Nice state of the art appliances and equipment.

Shaping our wholewheat baquette
Frying our pancetta and potatoes.

The final products:

Whole Wheat Baguettes.
Rosemary Potato Focaccia.
Cinnamon Rolls with Cream Cheese Frosting

The class was a blast. The instructions and tips were excellent. We had great fun and everything turned out delicious.

We went back to Jackie's to hang out with this cutie!

She loves my iPad.

Then after a bottle of wine, we went to Zaca Tacos for dinner.

Great Guac.

To be continued .......stay tuned for Sunday events.
