UpTown Shop Hop

Oh my, Richard and I stepped out after dark last night.  We decided to get a little holiday spirit.  We drove over to Grand Rapids (about 45 minutes away) for their Annual Uptown Holiday Shop Hop.  The shop hop event covered three different neighborhoods and a free shuttle was picking up and dropping off folks in the various neighborhoods.  The mood was festive.

He were are on the shuttle....
The event was hosted by retailers, salons, antique stores, restaurants, bars, bakeries and galleries.  All showing off their holiday finest things.

I took advantage of a salon offering eyebrow waxing for only $5.  I almost went for the paraffin dip but ....husband was being patient.

One of the antique stores was dazzling.  Check out this window display.

I found them to be so creative.  They are fur trees mounted on vintage silver chafing dish holders or casserole holders.

Some pretty, sparkly trees of vintage ornaments
A Christmas present for me....would love it in the camper!
Christmas punch anyone?  Little "sparkly" in it!
Perhaps you preferred hot chocolate...every venue had it.
Lots of holiday treats....cookies, truffles, sweet breads, wine, cheese.........

Some homemade crafts

It was all together a nice evening to stroll the streets, wave at Santa, see folks in the holiday spirit.  It was very well attended.  It took us about four hours to complete the tour...so you know we were digging it if we stayed that long!  Have a good weekend my friends!  Get your holiday spirit in gear!  It's kinda' fun!

  3. What a wondrous tour, Barb. We were out and about too. It’s the most wonderful time of the year, to coin a phrase. Festive days are just starting, other shoppers are friendly these early days of December. It’s fun to dress up and partake of all our community has to offer. You also, enjoy!
