Lunch at the Beach

We were camping, hubby and I, but I took time out and joined two chick.friends for lunch at the beach. I rode my bike from the campground to the beach. I looked real cute....wine in my basket, cheese and crackers, and a chair bungee corded to my bike handlebars! But, I made it!

Lynne preparing her salad!

Kathy setting the table

Good conversation, wine, sunny, breezy, chat, chat, chat. Lynne made a great salad; Kathy made excellent raspberry shortbread bars (Ina Garten).

Three and a half hours later, strapped the chair back on the bike and back to the campground. The ride back was so much easier....I was riding into a very brisk wind on the way there.

More on our camping experience next.

Have a great weekend.

Cooper Loved It

Around the block we went for the first time in the basket. He did really well, sat still and let his ears flap in the wind. Anxious to go again!

Dr. Dahlia

My hubby and I went for a pleasant bike ride yesterday evening.  I recommended that we take a detour and go for a ride by my friend, Dr. Peters gardens.

Dr. Peters worked at the local hospital where I did for many years.  He was the Pathologist in the Lab.  Always a friendly, happy guy.  During the summer months, he always brought in the prettiest bouquets of dahlias for the front information desk for everyone to enjoy.

He also offered me (I must have been one of his favorites, haha), some dahlia tubers one spring.  We've planted them ever since.  Every few years, I get a new variety but our certainly don't get the love that his do.

He was pulling out of his drive when we rode in but stopped and said Hi Barb and Richard....walk right into the gardens and enjoy!  and off he drove.

Dr. is president of the Dahlia Society.

So neat and tidy.  No weeds.  Every dahlia is labeled.  Such a special place to visit.  Thanks Dr. Dahlia for opening you gardens to those who enjoy!  We appreciate your talent.  Dr. Peters enters his dahlias in various competitions and also gives seminars around the state.  Truly a wealth of knowledge.

Reuseable

Hey folks! Have you gotten your re-useable cup from Starbucks yet?
It's only a buck....re-use and save the planet! It's very substantial. Just don't put in dishwasher and I'm thinking it will last quite awhile.

New Summer Shoes

Zappo's delivery by UPS made me extremely happy a few minutes ago.

Check out my new KEEN's.

They are light as a feather, fit perfectly and are oh so comfortable. I'm in love!

I just saw these on their website. ...how cute are they?

Just might have to order those too. I thought about getting the other color in first shoe because it is oh so cute but these print ballerina's...I'm swooning over.

For reference, they are the KEEN Kanga Ballerina.
